How to make carousels in Photoshop?

Updated: Jul 31, 2021

Saw my recent Instagram posts where I posted a series of images as if they were joined together?

Basically, these series of images are known as "Carousels".

This will be a step-by-step pictorial representation of how to to make those awesome carousels.

To begin with, you have to decide the number of images you want in a carousel, and then as per the number you have to set the resolution for your artboard in Adobe Photoshop.

Assuming, I want the dimension of each of the images to have a width of "2000" pixels and a height of "2500" pixels, so throughout the height will remain constant, we need to worry about the width. So suppose I want a carousel of 3 images, then the total width of my artboard should be 3*2000= 6000 pixels.

Open a new project with the dimension you want.

Now the artboard might look funny but this is the right dimension.

Go to View, then click on "New Guides Layout".

Then in the new popped-up tab, choose a number of columns as 3, as in our case we'll be dividing images into 3 images in a carousel.

Now a Cyan colured lines will be displayed on your workboard which is basically the guides. Now you can add whatever you want to your carousel.

Then select the "Slice Tool", then at the top there's a button "Slices From Guides", hit on that and your artboard will be cut.

Now to export these images as individual image, go to file , export and then "Save as Web Legacy".

A new tab will open and in that make sure the presets is as shown in the image below.

Now hit on save and you'll get an option to choose the destination, in the chosen destination a new folder named "image" will be formed and inside that folder, you can find your carousels.

As we can see, it has been exported to the destination folder.
